Grade 1 students
are learning to write to a picture using a word bank, this includes labeling as well as writing a complete thought, using spaces between words, capitals, and punctuation
are learning to read sight words and identify letter sounds
are speaking on topic when given a picture using specific vocabulary
are learning to use a sequence of pictures to tell a short story and write about the pictures
are learning basic concepts such as same/not the same
have completed the WIDA writing project
Grade 1 Foundational Students
are learning to label a picture using a word bank
are writing simple sentences with a sentence frame
are participating in chants and songs
are learning classroom routines and to follow expected behavior
are learning to identify letters of the alphabet
are learning to identify family members, weather, and animals
are learning to read patterns in a simple sentence using pictures
